Thais Maemura Research Analyst
Thais is a Research Analyst with focus on the Asia Pacific region. Prior to joining Audere International, Thais worked in the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court and conducted research and analysis on ongoing war crimes investigations.
She also has experience working with the Terrorism Prevention Branch of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, where she assisted with research and project management on preventing violent extremism leading to terrorism in South and South-East Asia.
Thais also worked in the Commercial Sector of the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo where she gained experience in providing strategic advisory to American investors interested in Japanese markets.
Thais speaks fluent Portuguese and Japanese. She holds a master’s degree in International Peace and Security from King’s College London where she studied international law, geopolitics, and wrote her thesis on the Rohingya crisis and its implications in the transitional justice process in Myanmar.
