Telecoms Investigation

Audere was retained by a Nordic state-owned telecoms firm to conduct an investigation into one of the suppliers of its Indian joint venture partner.

The target company belonged to the business group of one of the wealthiest families in India, at the time in a high-profile dispute following the death of its patriarch. The client was seeking to understand how exposed they were as a result of its affiliation with the business group, and its contentious ultimate beneficial owner, as well as investigate controversy surrounding the target company’s original awarding of its telecoms licenses. 

Audere’s subsequent investigation findings were used as part of the Client’s internal risk assessment procedures.  This led to negotiations with the target company by our client to better position itself.  We were further retained to monitor developments with the family dispute for any impact on the Client’s ongoing investment.
